Aug 2020

Yesterday (3rd August 2020) I received the very sad news from Garry Davis that Ron Trueman-Border had passed away. We have lost a great musician and friend of Ruskin House. Always willing to entertain us on Sunday Folk & Blues night or at the many festivals he supported over the years. We will miss him big time but we must remember him in a big way too. Ron was due to do a formal reopening of the Folk & Blues Club as soon as circumstances permitted. We must remember him at least by carrying on support for Ruskin House to which he was a committed supporter. Farewell Ron.

BBC Radio Kent Folk: We are very sorry to pass on the following sad news received from Victoria Lloyd. ‘It is with the greatest sadness that I have to announce the death of Ron Trueman-Border. We don’t know for sure but it looks as though he died peacefully in his sleep. I know this will come as a terrible shock to all his friends and fans. I will post again when I know more. He was the greatest songwriter I have ever encountered…he was my dearheart and a turbulent soul. Please play his songs …put them into your sets and keep the music alive in his memory. With love and heartbreak. Victoria’
